Least cost routing
Overview
Least cost routing (LCR) involves sending all your outbound voice traffic on the most cost effective route for your organisation. It shares many of the characteristics of carrier pre-selection with the key distinction being that you're telephone system (public branch exchange or PBX) is programmed so that all outbound calls are automatically routed down the most cost effective path to their destination.
How it works
This is achieved by fitting an auto dialler or by reprogramming your PBX. The upgrade process is extremely simple and causes negligible disruption to your voice services.
In common with CPS, your organisation can keep its existing landline numbers and dial without the need for any prefixes. Calls are intelligently routed down the most beneficial path to their destination resulting in substantial cost savings.
